RIP to a Redskins Internet Legend
I never met Stephan Miller, never even heard of his name until today, but he was certainly one of the trailblazers in creating Skins communities on the Internets, an effort that eventually resulted in Warpath Insiders, formerly Capitol Punishment and SkinsFans.com.
Tuesday, Miller died when he was bitten in the neck by that Hollywood bear during the filming of a promotional video. Glenn Nelson, who worked with Miller at Scout.com, wrote a touching reflection on the site today:
Miller was one of the first pieces of the Scout.com puzzle put in place by company founder James C. Heckman and he is the father of much of what makes up the essence of the network - its community and interactivity, mostly, but also its scappiness and work ethic.
Killed on Tuesday when bitten in the neck by a Hollywood grizzly he was handling, Miller would own up to none of the aforementioned. He was as humble as pie, with a heart bigger than anyone I've ever met. He called me his "brother," and we've said "I love you" more than any other friends I know. Of course I know he has other friends, just as dear, who feel as special and singular as I. That was Stephan Miller's magic.
Many more memories on this thread and this thread.

Dan:
Thank you for posting this. Mr. Miller was a big supporter (might have been the only supporter) of the DTC in 2001. He had our back since day one. He hosted a message board for the DTC before we could get our own. Our first print interview, with Warpath Magazine, was conducted by him.
I have met, and tailgated with him many times. He was not only a Redskin fan, but a father, a husband, and a brother.
He will be missed greatly.
RIP Stephan Miller aka Punishment.
Here is a picture from 2004, the last time I saw him.
