Joe Gibbs's Favorite Movie is Young Frankenstein

The Washington Times, as you might have noticed, published a long Daniel Snyder Q&A and accompanying article ,whose most notable feature was the bizarre decision to refer to Snyder as "Mr. Snyder" throughout, apparently non-ironically. If I ever do that, please feel free to pelt my house with old cheese. I mean, it's not like Mark Lerner gets to be "Mr. Lerner" in the Times. Neither does Ted Leonsis get to be Mr. Leonsis. Maybe he should only do interviews with the New York Times, where everyone is automatically a Mr., so long as they're male. Or maybe he'd make the NYT refer to him as Mr. Mr. Snyder. Or Mr. Mister Snyder.
[UPDATE: The explanation, I'm told, is that A1 stories in the Washington Times use "Mr.," while sports stories do not. My apologies to the Washington Times for a pretty terrible mistake. Most of the rest of this entry, as originally posted, is now bunk. Oh well. That's what Ctl-x is for.]
This was literally the best passage of the entire 3,000-word file:
As an owner, you intimately know your head coach because that's the guy you spend so much time with. You know everyone else in the building, but I can tell you what Joe Gibbs eat at every meal, that his favorite movie is "Young Frankenstein." I can tell you everything about his wife, the grandchildren. Pat still texts my wife every couple of days.
That's shocking, to me. I never would have pegged Gibbs as a Mel Brooks guy. But good for him. Here's my second favorite passage:
Q: You haven't even signed a Jason Fabini-type.
A: This year's Jason Fabini was Jason Fabini because we re-signed him.
I mean, I've heard dozens of times that "this year's George Mason is George Mason," but never did I think I would learn that this year's Jason Fabini was Jason Fabini. In terms of actual news, the Times story led with several passages in which Mr. Snyder talked about how he's matured, but I quite liked this reflection on last winter:
We were very, very comfortable with where we were. We just couldn't get out of Seattle. If that recovery by [Mr.] Anthony Mix had been a touchdown with the rule the way we'd like it to be, that game's probably over. I haven't brought it up this week because it looks like I'm a sore loser.
While I don't disagree that a Mix touchdown there would have put the Redskins in a definite momentulicious position, I have only one thing to say about that comment: "Sore Loser."
Sorry, make that "Mr. Sore Loser."

Mr. Snyder is a great man and philanthropist. For giving generously without asking for anything in return, our families will forever be grateful.

As anyone who has an appreciation for good comedy would know, that would be Mr. Gene Wilder in Mr. Young Frankenstein.
