Heidi and VW and the Jersey

Stefan Jacoby, president and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America:
"Before I do my little speech here please understand, as a German if I use the word 'football' I mean 'soccer'. Please don't quote me wrong in your newspaper. I'm so much used to fussball, please understand this and I apologize already up front, ja?...
"What I find here is that D.C. United is really evaluating or developing the core values of football, the tradition of a club, that kind of proudness a club has, ja? When you see the jerseys and the dresses and the uniforms, when you see the Web site for D.C. United, it's very much in the very tradition of football actually, whether you take English football clubs or Brazilian football clubs or other football clubs, and that's actually one of the core values of this sport, to keep that tradition....These are values actually which are totally in alignment with our values as well."
I'd recommend D.C. United add to its list of values "the usage of Heidi Klum as a celebrity spokesperson, and, if possible, also top American designer Michael Kors. More quotes here.
And yes, there will be some sort of financial benefit to VW purchasing extended to D.C. United players, which we can only hope will lead to a Fred-and-Ted style ad campaign with Franco Niell in a VW bus and Gonzalo Peralta in a VW bug.

football is not just european it's all around the globe. Simply when you say football it means football the round one NOT the pointy one. No one would point to the pointy ball as football outside of this country whether you like it or not.
