Morning Look: Sliding Dukes

Continuing another new feature to help me survive the summer: Morning Look, featuring a photograph that may or may not speak to the previous day's D.C. sports news, and also featuring virtually no text. I know, give a guy a blog that advocates his firing and he suddenly thinks he's too big to write.

Anyhow, here's the state of the Nats outfield, circa May 2008. I'll just quote from the caption of this photo, shot by the AP's Lenny Ignelzi. "Washington Nationals right fielder Elijah Dukes slides but misses a line drive."

Well, sure he did. But 'tis better to have slid and missed than never to have slid at all. That seems to be the prevailing philosophy, anyhow. And the Nats won, so who's complaining?

I'm going to start a blog about firing myself, too.
