Redskins Cheerleaders: The India Trip Video

Redskins Radio ran a massive segment on the Redskins Cheerleaders much, much, much discussed dip into the world of professional Indian cricket yesterday, and it allowed viewers to see many shots of the male cricket fans' reaction to the cheerleaders. It was, um, well....one of the cheerleaders used the phrase "extremely energetic," which seems about right.

The cheerleaders were situated on these 6' by 6' pedestals, two to a pedestal, and separated from the "extremely energetic" fans by chain link fences, although were I a Redskins cheerleader, I might have preferred that the fences also be "extremely energetic," if you know what I mean.

Some cheerleader quotes in the video:

"The fans are extremely energetic when they see us on the street, and they want to talk to us and get to know us."

"They know who they are, so they're always excited to see us. Even in the airport we get wonderful fans approaching us and just wanting to speak with us."

"Anytime that our team is doing good we actually jump up on our podium and start dancing for the fans, and immediately the fan response is going wild and going crazy. We actually have them climbing the fences and cheering. They're very supportive, they make signs. We've had a couple signs that say, 'The Bangalore cheerleaders are the hottest.' "

I mean, what must go through a cheerleader's mind when, on top of her six-foot tall podium, she realizes that one of the guys on her team has just licked a wicket, or whatever, and now the extremely energetic male fans are scaling the large metal fence directly in front of her? I have to think it makes her think fondly of the shirtless backwards-hat wearing camera-wielding Redskin fan from Woodbridge, which would have to be a first.

The closing segment.

The last paragraph resembles a story I read in March's edition of Penthouse Letters.

Dan - You 'take' a wicket - not 'lick'

Never mind lick a wicket, I'm up for 'lick a cheerleader, or whatever'...
