Ovechkin Hangs With a BeeGee

Yeah, that's Robin Gibb and Alex Ovechkin, sharing a stage.

Sadly, four semesters of collegiate Russian leave me unable to decipher this clip from a Russian music awards show, featuring Alex Ovechkin, Ilya Kovalchuk and some other Russian dude presenting some sort of award to the Robin Gibb, which I can only assume had something to do with his re-recording "Staying Alive" with Russian pop starlet Valerieya, sometimes known as the Russian Madonna.

So yeah, that's a lot of equivocation, but you don't need any language skills to say that when Ovechkin emerged out of some flashing gold shoot wearing jeans and a tight v-neck t-shirt plunging to around his midriff, while literally every other male human being in sight chose to instead wear a suit, only for him to joke on stage while waiting to clasp hands with a disco legend, it was pure awesome. Anyhow, someone translate Ovechkin's remarks, please.

(For more offseason Ovechkin, read yesterday's excellent if depressing Washington Times profile of older brother Mikhail, who works, of all things, as a video editor for the Mystics.)
