D.C. United Fans Wear Life Vests

Colleague Steve Goff posted many of the most important numbers from last night's waterlogged D.C. United disaster this morning:

*Announced attendance: 14,660.
*Actual attendance: Maybe 9,000.
*Attendance at final whistle: 250?
*Time of match: 4 hours 44 minutes.
*Time of delay: 2 hours 54 minutes.
*Number of light failures: 2.

But that only tells part of the story. The rest of the story is a well-known local wakeboarding enthusiast (in life vest) and a few dozen of his best friends keeping up the spirit during an event that lasted longer than election night and was wetter than an exit poll. Well done, United fans, well done.
