A horrible realisation...

All these sanctions being imposed upon North Korea...

Similar to the sanctions imposed upon Nazi Germany prior to WW2?

Now we all know what good they did (Mainly because they wern't inforced.)

Oh my, Mr. "the Rev!" An independent? Sounds much like a lib dem. I am a proud American. I love them all..gays included.
But I wonder about folks like you who attacks Bush. What was Clinton doing at the White House with Monica when North Koreans were deceptively pushing its nuke program. go figure...

Covert Observer,

You must live in the bubble with bush, not being able to tell that stay the course is nothing more that a political slogan with no real substance, just a bumper sticker. The party that claims to protect life is the party that kills,

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061011/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraqi_death_toll;_ylt=ArNKtL65hMgxXkIyF.RNTKas0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3b3JuZGZhBHNlYwM3MjE- .
"stay the course is "stand and die", Iraq is worsening everyday. We need to get out or partition the country into semi independent autonomous regions and let the Iraq decide from there. To say that Democrats have no solutions for Iraq is neocon BS. Democrats have several ideas ranging from leave now to partitioning. Bush and covert observer are like deer in the head lights, to afraid to try anything while a semi is bearing down on them, total denial.

As for terrorists taking over and training in Iraq if we leave. Bush broke down the gates to the country that kept them out and allowed them to enter. They are today training in and holding territory in Iraq due to Bush/neocon stupidity.

Stay the course was:

1. WMD? none
2. 911 connection? none
3. World is better off without Sadam? Iraqi Civilian's are dieing at a higher rate than under Sadam,

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061011/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraqi_death_toll;_ylt=ArNKtL65hMgxXkIyF.RNTKas0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3b3JuZGZhBHNlYwM3MjE- .

4. Freely elected constitution? An Islamic Constitution.

5. Freely elected government? Only in the green zone.

6. Seeding democracy in the Middle East? Only in the green zone.

7. Keeping the Americans safe on American soil? We special
deliver them to the terrorists so they don't have to go to the expense of attacking us here.

8. To set an example to other nations? Iran and NK.

In response to Covert Observer....

all that I can say is, right on Sully!

I am an Independent, however, one thing that I have admired about the Democratic Party over the past 50 years, is that it has, in comparison to the Republican Party, tried to represent the interests of all of the people of the United States of America. And, more than the Republicans, the Democrats have demonstrated their concern for the world, space and the environment.

The Republican Party on the other hand doesn't even pretend to have the interests of all Americans in mind, instead that Party has organized itself around 3 or 4 planks, and is concerned about only a segment of the American population, and a small portion of the world.

With respect to the space above us, they want it weaponized and filled with spy satellities. And also with respect to the American people, Mr. Bush makes no bones about the fact that he is taking care of the interests of 'his base'.

If you step outstide of the door of the White House and drive about 5 miles down South Capitol Avenue for example, you will end up in neighborhoods like Ward 7 and 8, where the average per capita income of many households is about 15 thousand dollars per annum; Appalachia?. And there are many American cities that are poverty ridden just like many other neighborhoods right around the White House, some even closer than the ones that I mentioned.

And yes I have spoken on Captiol Hill, to members of Congress about the real problem that is inside of America, that is more of a threat than what is occuring outside of America.

Where is Mr. Bush and the Republican Party with regards to those issues of human suffering and poverty? In my mind this is the 'Natural born killers' party!

And many Republicans are pure and simply, hypocrites. When polled many of the most outspoken Republicans have conceded that they actually believe in a 'woman's right to choose'. Many Republicans actually support gay rights, and I repeat, they voted for a ticket with a candidate on it who believes in homosexuality and interposition!

Consider all of the gay Representatives in Congress, and that is nothing in comparison to all of the gay Pastors that we have in pulpits who are pretending to be something that they are not, while pretending to be in support of a Party that is reportedly anti-gay!

Every person born in this country is entitled to the protections of the Constitution, and they have a right to exist and to pursue happiness! So Republicans, stop pretending. for there have always been gay people in the world. How dare you folks exploit other human being in order to accomplish your political objectives?

Covert Observer is always complaining about the fact that no one offers solutions. Lets try it again, the solution to the Iraq problem is simple, the United States must withdraw. The quicker the United States withdraws from the problem that it created, the citizens of Iraq will get on with the work of determining their own destiny.

In other words, civil wars get resolved quicker when interferring nations mind their own business; the U.S.A. is only prolonging the inevitable! Why? Because the U.S.A. wants to control that region. America is afraid that when it does leave Iraq, that Iran or someone else will step in and take advantage of the mess that we made there!

With regard to Iran and Korea, the United States needs to mind its own business and allow the legitimate international organization and the world community to decide how and what to do about nations that are exploring nuclear energy and nuclear weapons. If I were a part of that International body, I would order the U.S.A. to reduce its arsenal or shut up!!

It really is kind of obscene for a nation that has the most nukes to tell other nations that they can't have any. Its almost the same as America telling other nations that we have wealth, Cuba for example, but we don't you to have any wealth.

Wake up Covert Observer, I am trying to save lives, including yours, mine, aliens, your parents and your future posterity!

Go and find another axe to grind!

You seem to think that Congress has no affect on the president, what he does or how he does it. That is because we have been living in a totally complicit republican controlled government. That is about to change. Bush will soon learn what it is to have his agenda blocked, his violations of law investigated and possibly feel the sting of an impeachment. So while we have no choice but to let GWB sleep in the white house for 11 months out of the next two years, we Americans can elect democrats to the House and Senate and let them use the powers which have been idling in the republican congress to bring this country about and steer it in a better direction.

The screw is about to turn. Maybe we'll have to start listening to your blithering on such topics as the Congress voting to NOT fund the Iraq war forcing troops to come home. Oh how you will probably blither on about that. Maybe Congress will raise taxes on the top 1%. You'll probably blither on about how this will wreck the great economy we now have for something as stupid as reducing the deficit. Maybe Congress will find that Bush actually did commit a high crime in violating the FISA laws and begin impeachment procedings. Oh, I can't wait to hear your blithering about that. Oh what fun we will be having over the next few years. Time to upgrade my monitor to a wide screen!

"On 6/14/06 VAFB launched an ICBM, despite the fact that this test was only recently scheduled. This launch was obviously a move to flex our military muscle."

Sorry, but that's not true. The missile was scheduled for launch 6-12 months ahead of time, and pulled from an operational silo, probably 2 months before launch, and moved to VAFB, and prepared over 4-6 weeks for launch. They are fired to ensure reliability of the ICBM fleet. The AF fires a few ICBMs each year as part of the follow-on test evaluation program.

I know, I fired a peacekeeper ICBM back in 1990. Everything isnt a conspiracy, some things are just routine military ops that might seem to have hidden meanings depending on what's going on in the world.

So Rev! That man is YOU! High thee hither to the big White House at 1600 and go talk to Bush and Company. :)

Thank you Covert Observer, I keep repeating the same things, because Bush keeps doing the same things, look at all of the innocent people who are dying because of this man and the Right!

Bush is like former King of Israel, King Jehosophat. In 2 Chronicles 18:7 the king said, "..There is yet one man, by whome we may enquire of the Lord, but I hate him for he never prophesied good unto me...".

I have written to Mr. Bush several times over the years, however, other than receiving an acknowledgement from his office, he has never replied.

Like Jehosaphat, I am certain that he is interested in hearing only from ministers, and there are a lot of them, who will tell him what he wants to hear. He strokes their egoes, and he strokes theirs and some of them lead the most prominent 'religious organizations' in this country.

And you cannot rely on the Religious Wrong to help him to see the light. Remember when Clinton was exposed years ago, instead of following the example of the Bible, the Religious Wrong organized about 300,000 ministers to condemn Mr. Clinton, they were wrong then!

A minister's job is to help correct and restore, just as King David was corrected and restored by the prophet when he engaged in salacious activity with a married woman and had her husband surreptitiously put to death.

I could only wish for an opportunity for myself or anyone to help to restore Mr. Bush and get him on the right track before he can destroy any more innocent lives in the world!

Posted by: The Rev | October 10, 2006 10:11 AM

Lay it all at the feet of Angry White Republicans including the apostate Religious Wrong...(Where's Newt?)

....every domestic and foreign policy disaster instigated by George Bush can be laid directly at the feet of the Republican Party and their counterpart in crime, the Religious Wrong!

It is sad that a Party and Religious group that was so consumed with vitriol and rancor for former President Clinton and his Administration, put the needs of the country and the world second, and placed a man in office (by whatever means necessary) who was simply not qualified for the job.

And can you believe that some of them are trying to distance themselves from their former champion (a man that has not grown one iota after spending approximately 6 years in office)? The disaster that is coming to be known as George Bush, and all of the disasters that have come about as a result of his time served in office (and those disasters that will follow) are the direct responsibility of the out-of-control GOP and the Religious Wrong!

Think about it, the GOP and the Religious Wrong put a man in power who could not and still cannot pronounce the term, nuclear, which ironically turns out to be his number one obsession these days, it would appear. They are also responsible for putting a man into office who not lacked any foreign policy knowledge or training, he also lacked any intellectual curiousty about what was going on in the world. At least Dr. Rice was an expert on Sovietology, however, this man couldn't name Heads-of-State who were over several of the larger nations in the world.

How does a responsible political party and a group of religious organizations who claim to follow Christ put a man into one of the most important offices in the world, who prior to deciding to run for office, had zero interest in what was going on in the world?

Were the Republican Party and the Religious Wrong that bereft of viable candidates, or were they simply filled with so much rage as to place a man like this in office? For that matter how could they on one hand attack homosexuals and same-sex marriages, at the same time they supported a ticket with a man a heartbeat away from the Presidency, who supported homosexuality and the 'states right to choose', schizophrenic or what?

In my opinion, both groups were controlled by out-of-control anger, rage, pride and lunacy; impeaching Clinton was not enough, and now look where their anger has taken the whole planet. It would appear that Bush and these clowns have taken the world back to the days of the nuclear standoffs that the world once experienced during the cold war period! It would appear that the whole world again is at DefCOM3, not knowing what the imperialistic United States is about to do next.

Clearly we need to, immediately, get some viable leadership in office, send these politicians including Bush home, and return the radical and out of control ministers (not back to their pulpits) back to Bible College for retraining, for it would appear that some of them have forgotten what they were 'called' to do, and they no longer believe that the church can accomplish God's purposes via prayer!

We need a change folks before George Bush and his sponsors, The Religious Wrong and the Republican Party opens up yet another front in the war of incompetence and failed leadership!

Or do you really believe that these folks and their blood-thirst will be quelled after they take on North Korea? No, if they could quiet North Korea, Iran and Syria, they they would be on to their next provocation, say with China.

However, hey would have to borrow money from China in order to 'Right' them, but it would not be above them to try to borrow money from China in order to 'Right' them!

Folks, be leery of Religion and Republicans, and if they are one in the same Religious and Republican, then run like h'll!

Otherwise, I want you all to go to your windows, raise them up, and shout, "I'm mad as hell & I'm not going to take this anymore."

Rev. What you say makes sense. However you say it over and over and over and over and over again. Like most of the posters, you engage in rhetoric, defining the world problems, but have no solutions. We all know that the world situation is screwed up.

But who is this new president and UN leader? Surely not a democrat. Their house is burdened by policies that will internally destroy our country such as pro-abortion and "gay rights" (two words that don't go together at all).

Nay Rev. The ONLY choice is Bush and company. And I'll tell you what's needed to help President Bush. There HAS to be a person who will change his thinking. A clergyman would be the logical choice, since Bush appears to listen to a Man of God.

So Rev! That man is YOU! High thee hither to the big White House at 1600 and go talk to Bush and Company. :)

The world has changed...

... from the days when the U.S.A. considered itself to be King. Now other nations and organizations have money (USA borrows heavily from once disdained China), modern societies, educated citizens, weapon systems (including nukes) clout, et al.

The U.S.A. must learn to live in a world where other nations have all of the above, money, weapons, nukes, clout and more (in some areas other nations have exceeded the U.S.A.), instead of trying to exist in the world by staying with its old, America will force its will upon you, out-dated paradigms.

America's current leadership is compromised of a nucleus of individuals who are simply not up to the challenge of leading America in a 21st Century ever changing world.

The anachronistic and retrograde leadership in America is completely out of touch with what is going on in America it would seem, and the rest of the world. These guys and Condolezza are a throwback to a time gone-by.

Can you imagine and forgive me for saying this, America's idiotic foreign policy that is being led by an out of step idiot like John Bolton (arguably one of America's most important world representatives given all that is taking place in the world) serving at the United Nations?

The United Nations, think about what it stands for? This is the vehicle that the Americans could use to talk with other nations of the world, with the help of U.N. advocates, and work to resolve America's differences with other nations like Iran, North Korea, Syria and all of the nations that America wants to fight.

But rather than seek to engage in peaceful and civil discourse, at a location where all of the nations mentioned are present, America's policy championed by idiot John Bolton is to have our U.N. delegation go to the U.N. and conduct themselves as pouting little children.

In other words, our delegation ignores the people who they need to be seeking out and speaking with regarding the differences between America and these other nations. Why? America's Foreign Policy dictates that is our way or the highway!

Folks we must replace not only this current group of neanderthals, but we must revisit and revise America's woebegone, archaic and out-of-date foreign policy.

It is a policy that may have served America well in the 50's and 60's (maybe), but it is a policy that is not doing anyone any good right now!

America is going backwards and not forward!!

Its worth remembering that Clinton threatened the DPRK with war in 1994 if they completed the nuclear plant, which today remains only partially built, and agree to the framework. You are correct that Kim is a meglomaniac, and I would add paraniod to that, but all Bush has done is call him names, threatened his country with annihilation and will not talk directly with them. Is this the way to treat a meglomaniac who promises to build nukes? Its been 5 years since we found out they were producing plutonium and Bush instead invaded Iraq because of WMD which the NK SAID they planned to build. Now please tell me that this was smart. Better yet, tell me it was all Clinton's fault.

Bush has drawn so many lines in the sand it is obvious to anyone, especially a meglomaniac, that Bush is no threat. First it was unlocking the seals on the stored plutonium, then it was the missles Bush said should not be fired, then bush said he would not stand for a nuclear NK. Today we have all the above and Bush has done nothing. What's the next line being drawn in the sand? Bush said it today -exporting plutonium or bombs to terrorists will not be allowed. Gee, I wonder if Bush plans to confront the NK about that or is it just another line he will let them cross? If I were a meglomaniac I would feel pretty free right now about doing anything I wanted. Clinton threatened war, Bush draws lines the NK steps over, then draws more lines. Clinton held military exercises on the SK/NK border to make his point. Bush makes a speech and wags his finger. If only NK had oil, then maybe it would get Bush's attention. Then again, considering how he screws up everything he touches, maybe its better he just ignores the NK until the next president comes in.

What magical negotiations were supposd to happen if Bush wasnt there ?, The dems know better ? what a dangerous joke, Paul Begala testified in 1998 that NK didnt have a ballistic missle program , one week latter NK launches a ballistic missle that lands outside of Alaska. Clinton also sends Carter over who comes back with a peace of paper(peace in our time ala Neville Chamberlin) that says kim will stop nuclear weapons developement. Bush may be scary , but the dems are blind and scary.

Breaking news about the Foley scandal! Update III

otherside123.blogspot.com

On October 2, WMR was the first media outlet to report on the involvement of Arizona Republican Rep. Jim Kolbe, the only openly gay GOP congressmen, in the Pagegate matter. We reported that Kolbe was a member and chairman of the House Page Board at the time reports of ex-Florida GOP Rep. Mark Foley's inappropriate sexual conduct with underage male pages was known to the Republican House leadership. WMR reported:

"From 2000 to 2001, the Page Board Chair was Rep. Sue Kelly (R-NY) and members included Rep. Jim Kolbe (R-AZ) (inexplicably replaced as chairman by Kelly), Kildee, Trandahl, and Livingood. Crews was the program coordinator. From 1999 to 2000, the Chairman was Kolbe and members included Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO), Kildee, Transdahl, and Livingood. The coordinator was Crews. From 1998 (when the allegations first reportedly surfaced about Foley), the Chair was Tillie Fowler (R-FL) and members were Kildee, Kolbe, House Clerk Robin Carle, and Livingood. The page coordinator was Hugh Addington. Foley became a congressman in 1995."

The Washington Post is reporting today, rather belatedly, that Kolbe was aware of Foley's salacious e-mails with an underage page in 2000. One of Foley's Instant Messages sent in January 2002 to a page stated that Kolbe once invited four pages to use his Washington home while Kolbe was in Arizona.

There is also much focus on the relationship between House Speaker Dennis Hastert and his chief of staff, 56-year old Scott Palmer. Hastert and Palmer, Hastert's longtime unmarried adviser, live together in a DC townhouse along with Hastert's Deputy Chief of Staff, Mike Stokke, while Hastert's wife Jean lives in Yorkville, Illinois and stays at a hotel when she visits Washington.

WMR has also learned of additional Senate links to the Pagegate scandal. There is much focus on GOP Sen. George Allen's predominantly white male staff. There is also interest in the activities of a senior GOP Senator from a Rocky Mountain state.

WMR's State Department sources have also reported that the visits of Hastert and other congressional leaders and staff members to certain Southeast Asian nations and the Northern Marianas should come under the scrutiny of the House Ethics Committee, now officially investigating "Pagegate." The Northern Marianas became infamous in the scandals involving Tom DeLay and Jack Abramoff because of the presence in the US slave labor territory of Asian children being used as prostitutes. Conveniently, Foley co-chaired the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, which would have had authority to investigate charges of child prostitution in the Northern Marianas.

Were Hastert and other congressional visits visits to Thailand and Vietnam on the up-and-up?

Our State Department sources report that it is no secret that a number of U.S. Foreign Service officers working out of the U.S. embassies in Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Hanoi, and Manila have been involved with underage nationals of the host countries where they are assigned. In fact, many have rotated their assignments between countries that look sideways at child prostitution and sex between adults and minors. In fact, John Mark Karr, as previously reported by WMR, was quickly whisked out of Bangkok after his arrest on pedophilia charges. The U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, working with the CIA and Department of Homeland Security, arranged for Karr's quick departure from Bangkok on a business class flight to the United States, where all charges, including those stemming from Karr's "admission" that he killed JonBenet Ramsey and child porn charges, were later dropped. WMR has learned that Karr may have been aware of the identities of top U.S. officials in the child sex trade in Thailand and that he was sprung from Thai authorities to prevent him from testifying in a Thai courtroom.

Hastert visited Vietnam, along with Palmer, in April of this year and spent three days in the country. Hastert, along with Illinois GOP Rep. Ray LaHood, canceled a visit to Thailand and Vietnam in January 2006. Hastert was also in Thailand in January 2002.

The Solution to the whole problem....North Korea and all others!

Just because, America, began as a rogue nation (stealing land from the natives and enslaving extraterrestrials and forcing them to work the stolen Land)..., does not mean that America has to remain a hegemonic, warring and threatening rogue nation throughout another century!

The solution to what ails most of the world is for America to acquire new leadership that will refuse to enforce America's outdated foreign policy, but instead update America's foreign to make America a viable and respected nation in a 21st century paradigm.

Why won't Americans who pretend to be post-modern and advanced people, transcend the old mentality of yester year, and learn to live peaceably in the world without threatening other nations with sanctions or nuclear annihilation?

Once upon a time, when America was recognized as one of the world's elite nations it was because of America's industrial and military might. America's industrial might has been replaced by nations that were once considered Third World. Given the erosion of respect that accompanied the demise of America's once thriving manufacturing base, the nation demands respect from other nations of the world through the use of economic and military strangulation!

But wouldn't it be great to live in nation that garners respect and respectability because of its integrity, leadership, inventiveness and honorable standards, as opposed to a nation that the world currently fears because of its military might, and a world that gravitates towards it only to engage in trade with the hope of acquiring wealth!

It is too bad that we did not start off with integrity, then perhaps we could have ended up at the same place. Instead, even today we have a President, of the type of men who started this country by killing and confiscation, shaking his fingers and threatening another nation, North Korea. Why? Because North Korea has done essentially what the United States and many other nations have done, exercise its right as a free nation to develop or acquire a nuclear weapons capacity?

A country with 300 million citizens and a world with approximately 7 billion people demand a just standard that all people or nations can live with, not a standard that favors one nation and its satellite nations! And clearly someone else beside the American gunslingers will have to create and implement that standard.

And no one answer my previous question: Does the American N.R.A. support North Korea and North Korean's right to bear and develop arms, just as they insist upon for American Citizens?

P.S. And please don't tell the Rev for the umpteenth time that if he doesn't like it to just leave, it woudn't work. Why? No matter where you go on the planet it would appear, you sitll have to deal with American interference or hegemony, so I might as well stay here. Besides if I left, I would have to join the resistance(>:!

Like 911, this detonation is due to Bush's negligence, in this case his foreign policy and lack of diplomatic initiatives toward North Korea. And unlike 911, this was no surprise but has been building to this point for years with little concern from Bush. Chalk up yet another failure to the Bush administration.

Its time to replace the republican congress and in two years the republican white house. Democrats know how to fight wars and win, but also how to use diplomacy so we do not need to fight wars. The turn around starts in one month. Help is on the way!

North Korean Bomb Test Benefiting Bush?

from http://spyingbadthings.blogspot.com/

North Korea's announcement of its first nuclear test several hours ago has been expected for some time.

Seismic evidence at this point does not rule out that the "test" was a massive conventional explosion (in the manner of the planned US "Divine Strake" Test). However satellite imagery and signals intelligence will provide a greater level of confidence, over the next couple of days, that the explosion was, in fact, nuclear.

In a February 28, 2006 global threat assessment before the Senate Armed Services Committee, John Negroponte, US Director of National Intelligence said unlike Iran, North Korea claims already to have nuclear weapons, "a claim that we assess is probably true".

Assuming North Korea's nuclear capability is as North Korean leader Kim Jung-il claims Kim Jung-il had a choice of when to hold the test and when to announce it.

One limitation was that the test should be held at a time when the probability of a successful detonation was sufficiently high.

A test sooner or later was inevitable given Kim Jung-il tendency towards grandiose gestures. Furthermore (unlike Israel) North Korea is probably too backward (in some areas) to run a reliable computer simulation of a nuclear test so a real test was necessary.

Testing of a nuclear weapon should not have greatly changed the strategic picture if the whole would knew North Korea had nuclear weapons, but public fears and politics has changed the picture.

The major reasons for the Test and its timing are likely to remain unclear until a statement from the North Koreans and (declassified) humint clarifies them.

Why Test Now?

It's the ninth anniversary (and one day) since Kim Jung-il came to power.

The extra day may have been due to technical delays.

Just one day before South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki Moon will face a vote on his bid to become next Secretary General of the UN.

It provides the Republicans with the necessary foreign policy crisis to have some hope of "winning" the mid term elections to be held on November 7, 2006. In times of crisis Americans rally to the President, including his (Republican) Party. Most Americans would have been unaware of North Korea's previous ownership of nuclear weapons. An actual test provides a headline to allow the truth (and fear) to sink in. North Korea's action provides Bush with a sound reason to make bold statesmenlike speeches against North Korea. He may also launch some military action such as a stop and search "quarantine" of North Korean shipping. He will be seen to support UN sanctions.

In the end Bush will be grateful to North Korea and its leader for detonating the bomb at a most fortuitous time for the Republicans. North Korea may be gambling that Bush's bluster will dampen down after this election. By then North Korea, now officially in the nuclear club, will start to enjoy some subtle recognition from the US. This latter theory is, of course, speculative and unkind. But as the West discovered with Mao and Stalin communist dictators (and some Western leaders) can be decidedly cynical and opportunistic.

What a bunch of idiots

American malfeasance......ignored,

......while other nations are condemned and commanded to comport to the will of the abuser nation, the U.S.A.!

We live in a world where too many, inside and outside the United States, have historically ignored American malfeasance and its many violations of the Rule of domestic and International Law. The same perpetrators who have done so in the past and are doing the same now and demanding that other nations like N. Korea, Iran and the former sovereign nation of Iraq accede to the inviolate policies of the, acting outside of the law itself, United States of America.

It makes me think of a household where powerful parents who are physically abusing a few of the kids are aligned with the other kids who are not being abused, well not yet anyway. The siblings who are not being abused, at this time, will even insist that the siblings who are being abused give in and accept the abuse of their mad parents, and even worse the siblings who are not being abused will join in with the out-of-control parents and help them to abuse their siblings. What a crazy mixed-up household, and what a crazy mixed-up country and world that goes along with this kind of behavior! Some might conclude that parents and the kids who go along with this kind of behavior (smelling sulfur), 'are the Devil or something'(>;)!

Why have other nations of the world stood by and either aligned themselves with, or permitted the paternalistic and hegemonistic United States of America to perpetuate its double-standards on other nations and the world for years, while demanding instead that the abused victim-nations simply give in to American double-standards, demands, abuse and malfeasance?

It seems to me that he citizens of America and the world who look the other way or join in with American malfeasance and its abuse of other nations, or those who join in with the condemnation of other nations, as Americas force its will upon them do so because (a) they do not want to be abused by America or another abuser nation (b)they are aware that the road to commerce, trade, aid, markets and eventually wealth is through the United States of America (c)because the United States offers them the pay-off of protection or 'pro bono type favors' that is if you stick with us, we will do some future favors for you or (d) all of the above and a few other reasons, mostly that they are looking out for numero uno, themselves!

If you are one of the apoplectic Americans, you would answer, and what is your point? If you are a Christian Evangelical, you would answer, 'it is God's will'! If you are a Republican, you would answer, 'we must stay the course! However, if you have any sense and if there is any humanity left in your soul, you will say, this is wrong and there must be something done about America, not Iran, Iraq, Cuba, Venezuela or North Korea!

Folks we cannot continue to allow this kind of American standard to drive the world and to hold certain people and certain nation's hostage, as they are being abused by the United States of America.

As I close,

Isn't it ironic that one of America's favorite whipping boys in the world (an organization that it seeks to use to its advantage), is the United Nations?
Now just imagine for a minute if you were one of the other 190 member nations of the United Nations! nd imagine if you have sat by year after year and powerlessly observed one of the 5 permanent members of the Security Council acting rogue itself and in violation International Law itself!

• And imagine if for years you have witnessed this behemoth nation, the same nation that criticizes your organizational worth, a nation that has more WMDs (minus Russia) than all of the members of the U.N. combined.
• And consider that it is the only nation to have used WMDs on any other nation, and this nations demands that every other nations on the planet complies with its thinking, particularly that some nations of the world cannot have WMDs, which in its mind, is the Rule of Law.
• Or, imagine if the same nation that seeks to make every other nation comport with its will, a nation that has invaded without provocation other nations, and at the same time continues to occupy other nations through the force of its military?
• And consider this nation, the USA, who while invading and occupying other nations of the world is currently taunting, threatening and insisting that other nations abide by the Law?
• And imagine if you were aware that the nation that acts out more than all of the other nations in the world combined that actually uses the organization that you are a member of, the United Nations, to pass Resolutions that suits it purposes so that it can turn around and use the same Resolutions as a pretext to attack other nations, or vetoes other resolutions that do not coincide with its imperialistic and hegemonic purposes, what would you be thinking about the United States?

I'm thinking and have been thinking for some time now that it is time to make some changes, however, and until we do Americans and the world should be condemning the U.S.A., and ordering it out of Iraq and Afghanistan, and at the same time demanding that it immediately cease from threatening sovereign nations like Iran and North Korea, and finally that it lift the Cuban embargo and stop trying to force its will on the rest of the world!

Happy Columbus Day I think: he (looking for trade routes) and got lost, is kind of responsible for starting all of this, isn't he?

The US's nuclear arsenal was built because of the building of a nuclear arsenal by the USSR. Both sides built their arsenals in response to one another. Now that the USSR is gone and the US and Russia are at relative peace, the arsenals have been reduces but not eliminated. The US arsenal stands as a deterent as does Russia's and China's and the arsenals of most nuclear countries.

North Korea however has developed both the ability to produce nuclear weapons and the missles to carry them while South Korea has done nothing to provoke them to do so and in fact has been sending them food and fuel over many years. The development of such destructive weapons and the ability to send them into other countries is not something to be taken as a peaceful intention, especially when it is being done with rhetoric about the use of these weapons.

To compare the US's nuclear deterent to North Korea's stated purpose to build and use these weapons is a bad comparison. Sort of like a licensed hunter carrying a shotgun versus the neighborhood thug carrying one. You only need to see that the world has reacted so negatively to North Korea's missle launches and today's nuclear test to understand that there is a big difference between a North Korea missle test and a US missle test. For example, if you live in Japan you now must live with the real possibility that a nuke could fall on your country, which before, even with the many countries that have nukes, was not much of a possibility because of the deterent status of the arsenals of those other countries.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people with guns, and nukes don't kill people, maniacal despotic dictators kill people with nukes, and the world is well aware of it. Its time for China to wake up and deal with its spoiled child and take its nukes away before it begins to play with them and someone gets hurt.

After 3 years...

the World finally comes together and condemns the United States...for flagrant violation of International Law, given the United States illegal invasion and ongoing occupation of the sovereign nation of Iraq.

Are you kidding?

Hang in there North Korea and stand your ground for no one should be above the Law, not even the United States of America!

Why do you use Russia as a possible adversary?
This can compromise the peace between the countries.

October 7/8, 2006 -- The rumors about another top GOP member of the House being involved in sexual encounters with young "men for hire" are confirmed to WMR by well-placed sources in Washington's gay community. The member in question is House Speaker Dennis Hastert, whose "alternate" life style is the primary reason for him and his staff covering up the scandal involving ex-Florida GOP Rep. Mark Foley and his lewd messages sent to underage male congressional pages. Hastert's penchant to receive anal sex is well-known to our sources in DC's gay community. Additionally, Hastert's reported extremely small penis is the subject of many jokes among Washington's gay circles.

Speaker Hastert: The "butt" of many jokes among Washington's gay community.

WMR reported on old charges that swirled around Hastert when he was a high school wrestling coach at Yorkville High School in Yorkville, Illinois. Hastert decided to enter politics in 1980 after rumors surfaced about inappropriate contact with male high school students.

In July, Hastert was hospitalized at Bethesda Naval Hospital for cellulitis, a bacterial skin infection. In the Feb. 7, 2003 issue of AIDS Treatment News, doctors reported that they saw "a large increase in aggressive, antibiotic-resistant 'staph' (Staphylococcus aureus) skin infections in gay men in some areas -- and a separate epidemic in certain prisons. Symptoms include boils or blisters; treatment can be difficult, and sometimes requires hospitalization. One HIV doctor in Los Angeles who used to see about one case a year is now seeing two a week. In the past this infection occurred mainly in hospitals." The reports of serious skin infections among gay men was also reported in the Los Angeles Times on Jan. 27, 2003.

WMR has also learned that Republicans will soon mount an effort to discredit a senior House Democratic member with a sex scandal of a rather different nature. The member is aware of the plans and is circling the political wagons if the GOP launches their expected attack.

On 6/14/06 VAFB launched an ICBM, despite the fact that this test was only recently scheduled. This launch was obviously a move to flex our military muscle.

Why is it permissible for the US to test its arsenal as a deterrent and not permit others to do the same?

Is the current administration/military complex so naive to believe that our constant gesture of war will go without response? I think not.

It is clear that the military complex is building up to something more heinous than we could even wrap our minds around, without first understanding their motivation.

Based on my personal dealings with those in the science/military complex and keeping an eye on the related military/science sectors over the years, pre-bush history tells us that the military complex was being re-allocated to serve rather than lead the civilian sector. This led to declining profits for the military complex support system (large corporations), which also threatened the ability of the military to maintain its strategic weapons planning directive.
This led to the military complex itself having a vested interest in making and preparing for war to achieve its goal of dominance (a self-fulfilling destiny).

These war games have more to do with justifying budgets and fear mongering for control than they have to do with protecting or 'preparing' our country.

Real protection can only come in the form of effective diplomacy and empowering the people, not increasing the arsenal and decreasing our liberties.

If an external force from far away returns due to a STARGATE realignment with the center of the galaxy( possibly occuring in Dec 2006 or Dec 2012)

then we might witness a few interesting things. A Planet divided is a planet conquered from within.

Who might be coming over here? More needs to be decyphered.

Does the external force return to assist against a massive Solar burst? or does it return to an abomination of Desolation?

Posted by: The V Comment | October 8, 2006 6:52 AM

ELIJAH might stand for EL IJAH which means EL is here and if EL is the Sun GOD, then EL returns but if EL is the SUN then EL is here or ELIJAH might mean a solar burst.

Rather than nitpick back and forth, are contingency plans underway for dec this year or 2012 depending on the validity of the Mayan calender's 360 days vs the Gregorian calendar's 365?
