By Any Other Name ...

Defense lawyer George "Mac" Secrest was just questioning Kenneth L. Lay about the company's off-balance-sheet partnerships that have drawn so much attention and contributed to the company's downfall, such as the Raptors. Other partnerships were also given tough-sounding monikers, like Osprey and Condor.

"So you remember Talon, Porcupine?" Secrest asked. "Who comes up with these names?"

"Beats the hell out of me," Lay replied, prompting laughter in the court room.
