Judge Sim Keeps 'Em Comin'

It seems that prosecutor Sean Berkowitz made a mistaken assumption about his rival, defense lawyer Daniel M. Petrocelli, representing former Enron chief executive Jeffrey K. Skilling.

Addressing the jury, Berkowitz said he would avoid a lengthy discourse on a particular topic, saying that "Mr. Petrocelli's going to have an awful long redirect" examination of Skilling after Berkowitz finishes.

Judge Simeon T. Lake III immediately interjected: "I don't think that's a fair assessment," prompting laughter in the courtroom.
