More Mainstream-Media Bashing
So, heading back into the courthouse today after the lunch break, I stepped into the elevator and held it open for two ladies walking in behind me. They thanked me in a nice Texas twang.
They eyed the courtroom badge I have to wear and mistook me for a potential juror, asking me if I was heading to the selection process.
"No," I said. "I'm a member of the media covering the Skilling trial."
Just then, the door to my floor opened and one of the nice ladies fairly pushed me out.
"Then get out," she said in that Southern way of laughing-while-being-serious. "We don't want to talk to you."
"That's right," her elderly friend said, as the door closed.
I had messed with Texas even without knowing it, apparently.

Yup - that sounds pretty much about right for hereabouts. The media is considered the root of all evil, and folks try to find any excuse they can for bashing those that are just trying to do their job. It doesen't even make a lick of sense to even try to reason with them.
