Candidates For Governor To Debate Tomorrow
Tomorrow's debate in Fairfax between the candidates for Virginia governor, Lt. Gov. Timothy M. Kaine (D) and Jerry W. Kilgore (R), is the only scheduled live televised face-off of the campaign planned in Northern Virginia, officials said. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton McLean in Tysons Corner. The county Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the debate.
Though Kaine and Kilgore will appear on NewsChannel 8 in Northern
Virginia, the hour-long debate will not be seen by voters elsewhere in
the state. Channel 8 will rebroadcast the debate later that evening.
NBC's Washington bureau chief, Tim Russert, will moderate the hour-long
debate. A panel of journalists and a chamber member will ask the
candidates questions. For more information, call 703-749-0400 or visit www.fccc.org.
