Go, Jim!

It's legal to have fur items from other animals and leather from Cows, so what is the problem with Cats & Dogs? They are cuter animals? What a stupid waste of time. Surely Jim Moran has better things to do- maybe he should be working to improve the lives of his fellow human beings, instead.

Dave,

Did you see the show or know about animal treatment? Why is there a question about "fellow human beings instead"? Why not BOTH? Can you not want to see a person hurt AND a dog? If we "waste time" on any subject under the sun that doesn't have anything to do with humans, what is your feeling towards that, or do you care if they talk about car paint or toenail polish or something or Britney and Kevin but NOT animals? The treatment of all animals, including cows, is something that should be done humanely. Period. What IS your problem with that?

Susan,
Britney and Kevin? Please avoid using straw men when making an argument.

Define "humane". They are still being killed and used in products, and we do it to animals in this country as well. We eat animals and we make things from animals. So why is Congressman Moran taking a stand for THIS special interest group?

Oh my...who would have thought that Jim Moran (or anyone else who cares about the humane treatment of animals) would be criticized for doing something nice?

Dave and Bob, you are the Asian coat makers' dream. Fortunately, I think you guys are a very small minority. Many of us care about people AND animals.

Yeah, Disdain, and I'd' like to see that minority reduced by two, by any means necessary.
Dave/Bob and others of your ilk:The big difference between what's going on with dogs and cats, and our food animals is that we don't routinely skin them alive, and they're usually not someone's pet (this has been documented by those who have filmed the carnage). Now go crawl back under your rock.
