The LoGrande family home in the Mount Vernon district is the subject of this week's Fairfax Extra cover story. A recent discovery of a 25-year old mistake has revealed that the house is seven inches below what the county requires for a building in the flood plain of the Potomac River and that the house as it stands is an illegal structure.
