Support Center Run by Mentally Ill Opens
Fairfax County opened a drop-in center for the mentally ill yesterday in Reston that is run by the mentally ill themselves. The center offers support, job and advocacy training as well as a chance to socialize, officials said.
Rather than providing clinical services, it is designed to offer a supportive environment for people with mental illness.
The center, at 1820 Michael Faraday Dr., is open to anyone older than 18.
