Child Care for Some Low Income Families in Jeopardy

In this week's Fairfax Extra this article reports that Fairfax County Executive Anthony H. Griffin says money from nearly $20 million in unallocated county funds should not be used to cover a gap in the state funding of child-care programs for low-income families. Griffin reasons that the money will be needed as a buffer for the coming year as revenue growth slows. What do you think? Is this a worthy cause for some of the county's unspent cash?
