UPDATE 1/25 $2.2 Billion Budget for Schools Detailed

This must stop. $2.2 billion!

It costs more to send a child to Fairfax County public schools that it does to send a child to a public college or university.

school enrollment has been flat for years

Enrollment went DOWN this year. But, the schools budget went UP.

This will continue until voters demand a change.

Student enrollment down by 500. Costs up by $100,000,000.

If that does not say something, I don't know what does.

Let's look at it another way. The budget is $2.2 BILLION. The number of students is 164,000.

That's $13,400 per student, per year. Guess what - that's more than it costs to send a child to a public college or university (national average).

Why? Here is why: Fairfax County public schools is a government run activity. Government run activities are not known for efficiency. They are known for protecting their turf and GROWING.
