Student enrollment down by 500. Costs up by $100,000,000.
If that does not say something, I don't know what does.

Let's look at it another way. The budget is $2.2 BILLION. The number of students is 164,000.
That's $13,400 per student, per year. Guess what - that's more than it costs to send a child to a public college or university (national average).
Why? Here is why: Fairfax County public schools is a government run activity. Government run activities are not known for efficiency. They are known for protecting their turf and GROWING.
Had enough?

This must stop. $2.2 billion!
It costs more to send a child to Fairfax County public schools that it does to send a child to a public college or university.
