Back to the Lounge
Late-breaking news from the Hill: Capitol Lounge's main bar is reopening tonight, almost five months after it was gutted by fire. The smaller side bar and basement Shriner's Lounge reopened Dec. 9, but the much larger main room needed a little more work.
If you've been missing the discounted wings and pizzas, though, you'll have to wait a little bit longer; the kitchen isn't fully functional at this point.
Still, $2.50 drafts and $3.50 rail drinks sound like a pretty good deal.

If you are going to act like an ass go to the Hawk n' Dove chief.

That fire was a sign - the neighborhood had one too many putrid third rate sh*tboxes for entry level bureaucrats to get drunk in. Maybe the new incarnation will be something different, but don't hold your breath. Hallelujah indeed.

I recognized the Lounge for what it is - a cheap drinks sort of place. But the condition of it's bathroom (filthy) always sortof spoke volumes about the place. The owner is opening a ton more places on the Hill. I'm hoping he pays more attention to bathroom hygiene in these other places, as Hill residents that aren't interns aren't going to be too keen on wading through filth.
But, at least the food is better than Hawk and Dove (or Hack and Puke, as locals know it). I was once served a burger in Hawk and Dove that was nearly the consistency of a hockey puck.

Andy and Hillman have it right. If you're 22-years old and looking to pick up an intern, Cap Lounge is for you. If not, get on the Metro because every bar on the Hill (except maybe 201) is only becoming more and more like it.
