1789 Savings

Fresh off its three-star review from The Washington Post's food critic Tom Sietsema, 1789 is giving summer diners an affordable way to nab a gourmet meal. Now through Sept. 13, the restaurant offers three courses for $35.

Under new chef Nathan Beauchamp, the seasonal menu includes an escargot tart, scallops with polenta and rhubarb and the restaurant's signature rack of lamb. Though nothing on the menu is off-limits, there is a surcharge for some of the more decadent items, including the foie gras and ribeye. Round things out with a vanilla and chocolate bread pudding, tarte au fromage blanc or rhubarb-berry galette from RAMMY award-winning pastry chef Zoe Behrens.

To claim this hot deal, download the certificate from the restaurant's Web site. Diners only need one coupon per table. That seems like a four-star deal to me.
