Mega-thx, but if their performance on Conan is a predictor, I'm really concerned that we'll all have to tromp all the way out there just to listen to an anti-Bush screed instead of a concert.

OK, if you're going to quote ticket prices and Ticketmaster in the same article, you can't leave out the MASSIVE SERVICE FEES that monopoly lays on people: $11.50 per ticket?! Nearly a 20% mark-up just forr using their d*mn website! No competition at all, over a decade after Pearl Jam's Capitol Hill effort; still nothing.

The show should have been cancelled. It rained so hard that roads were washed out. Detour signage was virtually nonexistent, until our second time around. Sitting in traffic for 3+ hours with hundreds and hundreds of cars not moving anywhere.... Suffice to say, we didn't see the show, and there were miles of cars behind us.

The whole thing was a sham. So is Ticketmaster, so is Nissan Pavilion, so are the local cops and anyone else that put on this fiasco. Radiohead, we're disappointed in you too for encouraging driving to Western Nowhere in a Flood Warning scenario.

Who could even make it to the show?

We got into the show, but took more than two hours to get out of the parking lot. People were irate, hysterical teens couldn't find their cars, and we were directed to circle around for nearly an hour before we could get on the freeway.

Radiohead deserves a chunk of the blame here as well. I really can't think of anything less "green" than choosing a venue in the middle of nowhere with well-known traffic problems, where thousands of cars idled for hours on end. On Mother's Day, you and the Nissan Pavilion gave Mother Earth a slap in the face.

What a debacle. The show should have been cancelled, it was extremely hazardous and I'm surprised nobody wound up in the hospital with hypothermia, and that nobody died in any car accidents. It was treacherous and chaotic out there.

There's a lot of talk on this at Green Plastic. Consumerist too, and there's a petition forming.
