Shopaholics R Us
I am hearing from folks commenting on this blog that they are close to finishing or have already finished their holiday shopping. Hats off to you! I say reward yourself by going to a movie or doing something else that makes you smile and take the rest of the week off from holiday chores.
As for me, I'm feeling a bit smug myself. On Saturday, I bought presents for my four nieces and nephews in Michigan, wrapped them that night and sent them off with my in-laws who came to visit us for Thanksgiving. Usually the presents for these relatives sit around until Dec. 20, at which point my husband hands over $80 to the nice clerk at Mailboxes Etc. so they arrive at the Detroit suburbs in time for Christmas. Not so this year!
I hope you will check out our gift guides. Did anyone see the wide selection in The Washington Post Magazine's holiday issue? The Home section recommends two gifts for the home every week. One costs less than $50 and the other costs more than $50. And on Sunday, watch for gift ideas from the Sunday Source.

My aunt loves Faberge-style objects and it's always difficult to find something that is well-done but reasonable in price. One day last week I was trolling the internet and came across an interior design website's blog that praised Bombay Company and its laquered items. I went online and found the most beautiful Faberge picture frame for $25! Now I'm finished shopping completely. Thank you

You don't think the subliminal messages in that Christmas music wouldn't have anything to do with all this compulsive buying?
