In my house, we leave our tree up and decorated through Jan. 6 to celebrate Armenian Christmas. (My husband is Armenian.) That means that we get our tree later in the season. We hope to buy it this weekend and have lights and ornaments up by Sunday evening.
Too much work for you? A reader posted a comment saying that she eases stress by decorating a smaller, tabletop tree. The whole event takes about 30 minutes. That sounds like a smart idea to me.
Another idea: I buy all decorations, stockings, tree skirts, ornaments, etc. at after-Christmas sales, when it's fresh in my mind what I need for the next year and everything is on sale.
Anyone else putting up a tree in the next few days? If so, check out our guide to tree stands.
