This Just In: Iraq 'Huge Success'

Iraq is going mighty well, says Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla).

"It's a huge success story," Inhofe says.

As Dave Barry says, I am not making this up.

Inhofe is such a party pimp. The man hasn't had an original thought since God knows when. The citizen's of OK should be embarrased.

It sure is comforting to get this assessment from the guy who says global warming is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American public.

My first reaction was: "How does anyone as dumb as Imhofe get elected to anything?"
Then I remembered who's been squatting in the White House since January 2001.

I AM from Oklahoma, and once again I am sooooooo embarrased by Inhofe's remarks. (as if the global warming thing wasn't bad enough) To all reading this I sincerely apologize, we are not all like that in Oklahoma, I swear!

I don't do drugs, but whatever they are on, I want some, too.

Yes we have heard from a few Senators from mentally challenged states, I believe Alabama is coming up. Still I have been pleased with these hearings so far. The House hearings were an embarrassment. House members are mostly ignorant local politicians dependent on extreme gerrymandering and earmarks, ie, corruption to stay in office. By comparison event a senile old coot like Sen Byrd seems a mental giant and very perceptive. The Senators for the most part have not been cowed by the sight of charts, stars and ribbons. They have been getting some good information and making some good points.

Inhofe is one of the worst politicians still polluting this country. It sucks that a moron like this has power over more than just the poor people of Oklahoma.

Posted by: NM | September 11, 2007 05:31 PM

The poor people of Oklahoma voted this putz into office. A better line might be "what's wrong with the poor people of Oklahoma that they've voted in one of the most embarassing politicians in Congress"? It is good to have some comedy relief now and again though...

Senator Inhofe's remarks are a perfect example of why we have to remove the Republican party from power next year. They need to be wiped off the slate down in Washington.

When they are ready to come back as a serious, political party, ready to represent the American people, we'll vote for them again.

If Oklahome insists on sending people like Inhofe to Washington, I'd just as soon they withdraw from the union. They're a negative tax entity, anyway.

Martha, don't be too hard on yourself. Sen. Inhofe is an embarrassment to sentient human beings everywhere, not just to those in Oklahoma.

I don't suppose the good senator was maybe taken out of context?

I'm no fan of Inhofe's, but can we please be fair and examine the full context of the quote before piling on?

If only the blogger had *provided* the context, we'd be able to judge for ourselves.
