Tuesday's Times of London

A daily ritual of mine is to buy the same-day Times of London at a convenience store down the street from my house in DC. (The Times is owned by Rupert Murdoch and is printed and distributed on the East Coast via the NY Post printing presses. Murdoch owns that paper, too.)

Yesterday's Times had a couple tidbits that could be translated to lacrosse.

One story noted that UEFA was having trouble selling out the Champions League final between Manchester United and Chelsea today. The game is being held in Moscow and a number of factors have led to the non-sellout, including the high cost of travel and the relative inconvenience of the predetermined location. Hello, Foxborough?

The other was an advert for a rugby game between England and The Barbarians. The ad reads "England vs Barbarians: Because Not Much Changes Over the Centuries." Sort of like the teams that contest the Final Four in lacrosse?

Hey Incredulous:

About the CL final, I was thinking about going to Lucky Bar. That's where I watched the '99 final. And if it weren't final four lacrosse weekend, I'd deffo be at Lucky. As it is, I am sat at home responding to your question, doing Sirius radio with ESPN tv, volume down...

Where are you watching?

Great rugby ad. Lacrosse as a sport could use some marketing. Need to broaden the popularity so that we can see more game broadcasts, if nothing else.
