Women's Pairings
Maryland, Virginia and Georgetown have received bids to the NCAA women's tournament.
The Terrapins (17-2) are a No. 2 No. 3 seed and host Atlantic 10 champion Temple (13-6) on Sunday at 1 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors.
Virginia (14-3), the ACC champion, is a No. 4 seed. It hosts North Carolina (12-6) on Sunday.
And Georgetown (12-6) will host Duke (11-7) in a first-round game on Sunday. The Hoyas are a No. 6 seed. The Blue Devils won the regular season game, 12-11.
(TFBO2F will update the ticket information as it comes available.)
Northwestern (17-1) is the No. 1 seed. Penn, which defeated Northwestern last week, is No. 2. The Wildcats will host Notre Dame (12-6) in the first round. Penn will host Colgate (11-9).
The women's semifinals and final are at Towson University on May 23 and 25.

Penn is the 2 seed, despite being ranked No. 1 by the pollsters and beating Northwestern. NU still has the higher RPI -- not sure how that happened.
George Mason got hosed.
Also, the committee obviously has an anti-ACC bias, putting UNC on the bus to go to Virginia in the first round and setting up Duke against Maryland in the second round.
If you ran the pairings straight off the RPI ratings, you should have gotten Towson vs. Maryland and Penn vs. Temple -- perfect for the "travel" edicts of the NCAA. But they instead made Notre Dame go to Northwestern and New Hampshire go to Boston University. Go freaking figure.

You list both Penn and Maryland as the number 2 seed--which one is it?
It's good to see finally some coverage of the women's game in this blog.
