Local Music with a Worldly Sound

Seed Is... offers up wide appeal and a completely unique sound thanks to their melange of musical styles that has been defying genre boundaries from their inception. This nine-piece group from Southern Virginia cites "funk/soul/rock/rap/folk/jazz/go-go/reggae" to describe their sound and names influences from James Brown to Metallica. "Feelin' Fine," from their appropriately titled album "Music for the Masses," opens with a reggae feel, but is quickly joined by a horn section and the song slides into a more R&B style chorus. This song emits true musicality, showing thoughtful songwriting and talented musicians. Seed Is... is a highlight of local music, so don't miss them live at Rams Head Tavern in Savage, Maryland on September 30th.
