Through two

So Shawn Hill, your No. 2 starter, had a first inning that went kind of (all right, exactly) like this: Walk, fly out, stolen base, dropped pitch and then Furcal gunned out trying for third, single (through Guzman), single, walk to load the bases -- all while driving his pitch count way up. But he got Wilson Betemit to ground out to second with the bases juiced, and no runs scored.

Nats had a leadoff single from Felipe Lopez in the first, then a double play from Guzman (bite your tongues). A pair of walks in the second (to Kearns and Snelling) but nothing to show for it. Hill came back in the top of the second and efficiently put the side down in order. He's on the mound in the top of the third with the score:

Nationals 0, Dodgers 0
