So Young said after the game that he indeed tweaked his hamstring coming out of the box after his first (and only) at-bat.

"I felt some tightness running down to first base," he said. "Manny took me out for precautionary reasons."

Could you have stayed in, I asked. "Yeah, but also risked more damage to it."

Think you can play over the weekend?: "Oh, yeah."

Manny Acta said he was going to get a day off on Thursday's day game anyway, so this will be like a two-day break before he -- in theory -- is back in the lineup on Friday night at Arizona. Brian Schneider will also have the day off on Thursday.
