Get ready to chat -- and Boz tours the ballpark
Chat is in 15 minutes. Somehow, I had missed this tour of the new Nationals park hosted by Thomas Boswell. It's from a few weeks ago, so there's been even more progress down there since. But Boz already has some seating recommendations for you (which, I suppose, will help get those extra 13,000 folks per game the Nats need). This video is less than seven minutes long and is extremely safe for work.
Boz was out at RFK yesterday sitting down with a bunch of folks for his latest installment of "A Few Minutes with ...", so that should be out in the next week or so. I'll try to promo it here.
Carry on.

couldn't submit this into the chat, but thought I'd chime in here. Perhaps another reason Brandon Watson wasn't called up when the rosters expanded was because he was on the DL for Columbus to end the season.

It's the USS Barry (no relation to Marion), and I believe it's a WW-II era destroyer-escort. Certainly not a battleship.

Maybe he meant warship? (Maybe he or his editor should have looked it up.)
Last add on last night's game: gotta mention da Meathook hustling to outrun a would've-been GIDP to keep the inning going.
Dmitri Young's legs keeping them in a game -- who knew?

Thanks, confirmed your post via Wikipedia (as much as anything can be confirmed that way). More than you'd ever want to know about the (destroyer) USS Barry:

Yet again, we prove that Boz knows an awful lot about what goes on between the lines. He should never, never, never deal with anything other than on field performance, projections, etc.

Thank you Barry for linking Boz' tour of the new stadium. The stadium is coming together nicely and I cannot wait for the 2008 season to get here.

If you want official (not Wikpedia), this is offical, from the Naval Vessel Register: http://www.nvr.navy.mil/nvrships/details/DD933.htm
The ship at the Navy yard is the ex-USS Barry (DD 933). She was built by Bath Iron Works in Maine, launched 10/01/55, and decommissioned 11/05/1982.
Loved Boz's video tour and will look forward to the update.
Heading to RFK in a couple minutes. Hope to see a bunch of you out there!

The tour was fun to see, but I almost fell out of my chair at Bos's identification of a "battleship" within view, moored at the Navy Yard.
Perhaps someone with more intimate knowledge of Navy Yard operations can identify the specific ship pointed out by Tom, but it looked like a destroyer to me, not remotely large enough to even resemble a battleship.
