I'm calling for a DQ of Teddy in the Prez race on Opening Night for sailing to victory on Bowden's segway.

Does anyone else think Zimmerman is hiding some wild Super Bowl party stories behind that wry smile?
Posted by: John in Mpls | March 10, 2008 2:21 PM
Of course! That's why he can't remember any of the celebrity sightings!
Posted by: NatsNut | March 10, 2008 2:24 PM
I think Zim definately had some fun at the Superbowl that he doesn't want us to know about!
He's young, single, and rich - good for him! Its the off season!

I was disappointed to hear him say he was tired of rooting for Teddy. Teddy is, after all, the racing president analogy for the Nats themselves - so should we be tired of rooting for the Nats because they haven't won yet? Of course not! Shame on you Zimm!

I'm with Zimm. Teddy has lost his focus.
Posted by: 307 | March 10, 2008 2:38 PM
Nah, Zim just hates losing/losers that much.

These spotlights are great, btw, I just wanted to be sure and say that.
On the other hand, c'mon Zim! Open up a little bit. Have some fun!

this was the worst one of these so far.

Yea, Zim's one of my prodigies on talking to the media.
Still, Forsythe probably got them all at the same time at the beginning of training, before they're all loose.
If they'd had a chance to chat with the others and learn the questions, they'd probably have a little more fun with it.

i think he looks and acts like a baseball player. i don't want zimmerman entertaining and performing off the field. leave that stuff to the kevin millar types.

I would have aced it.

Brief interjection on the game front today:
Clippard had a good outing today...3 and 1/3 pitched, 2 hits, 2 walks, and 4 (count'em, 4) Ks with no runs. Saul Rivera has also pitched one completely uneventful inning so far (a good thing!).
Luis Jimenez, or little Papi, fanned 3 times, so that was not so good. Lannan was statistically a bit disappointing, with all three of his runs allowed coming via the 2 HRs he gave up.
As someone stated previously, Milledge continued his hot streak, with 2 singles and a stolen base (his fifth in six tries, pushing his success to 83.3%).

Game Day seems to have gone into pause mode again.

Minor correction: the 2 homers that Lannan gave up were both solos, 1 to Pudge Rodriguez and 1 to our long-familiar friend, Miguel Cabrera.
Cabrera first started to wear Lannan (and the Nats) out (as is his custom, at least re: the Nats) by singling in the second run for the Tigers in the top of the first inning.

Hey, Game Day broke loose and the Nats have tied it up: 3-3.

And in a pleasant update...Whitney finally made a push to make the team... hitting a 3-run HR off Zach Miner with two outs in the bottom of the 8th.

Just looking at the box score it looks like an exciting game.

New post.

I'm so happy the nats brought back Tony Bastista.

In the new mailbag on the team's website, Bill Ladson just said that he expects Odalis Perez to be the OD starter.
Barry, PLEASE tell us that isn't true, that Bill must be suffering from the drugs found in the drinking water...

If Patterson's healthy, he'll make the start. I know he's on schedule for May 31st, but that's 3 weeks away. I'm sure they can alter his plans by a day if they need to.
I say rest easy Big Nats Fan and buy bottled water.

I liked the video and Zimmerman's comments (except for the bustin' on Teddy ;)).

I'd love to get Zimmerman's take on George W. Bush. I bet Zim would lay the smack down on our current Prez.
