Lights out!
Unfortunately, this doesn't mean that John Lannan has been lights out here at Nationals Park. In fact, quite the opposite.
Just after Ryan Zimmerman dropped down a bunt single to open the bottom of the fourth, a couple of banks of lights went out above Nationals Park. We've been sitting here for probably 10 minutes in partial light. The Pirates came off the field. Kind of a weird murmur going around the yard now. And we have no information on how long the delay might be.
Lannan got knocked around: 3 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 0 K. Pirates scored six in the third, including a three-run homer for Jose Bautista. ERA bounces from 2.64 to 3.74.
Nats trail 7-1 with one on and no one out in the bottom of the fourth. Will keep you updated.

Nothing like sending the new guy out on the wrong foot; do you recall just how much we hate Eli? The Philly Game...you never told use how that happened but we have not forgotten how low the Post can go.

Great RBI double form Nieves. He has a better average, more hits, extra base hits, and more RBIs than Lo Duca and Estrada IN LESS AT-BATS! Why will Lo Duca replace him?? Gotta love our catching situation next year if Nieves stays put...

Barry, can you give us the password for the press box wireless? The EDGE network is pretty crappy when this joint is full... Somebody tell AT&T that they built a ballpark out here...
Also, what was the deal with the lights? It would be interesting to get some color on the umps' decision to call play... The light looked plenty sufficient.

I hadnt seen a comment posted about this yet...but the revised scoreboard layout is fantastic. Both batting lineups are displayed and the players have up to date season stats.
