Johnson -- possibly out for season
Real quick, with the lineups and a Nick Johnson injury report. (You might say this is a surprising development, but given Johnson's history of injuries, it's more right in line with what you'd expect.
Bottom: Nick Johnson could be out for the season. We'll have more answers tomorrow, but Johnson, currently trying to come back from a tear in the tendon sheath in his right wrist, was examined today at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
The doctor who evaluated Johnson, Dr. Richard Berger, recommended a diagnostic arthroscopy to evaluate ligaments in his wrist. That surgery will take place tomorrow.
I'll have a little more on this later on.
Here are the lineups, by the way.
Los Angeles (or Anaheim) (or whatever)
Figgins - 5
Aybar - 6
Anderson - 7
Guerrero - 9
Hunter - 8
Kotchman - 3
Kendrick - 4
Mathis - 2
Lackey - 1
Washington
Guzman - 6
Dukes - 9
Milledge - 8
Young - 3
Flores - 2
Belliard - 5
Lopez - 3
Harris - 7
Bergmann - 1

Oops. Just noticed that both Dmitri and FLop are playing first tonight. Looks like that bag will be more than covered!

big surprise there. Johnson has always been a ridiculously slow healer. I'm not surpriseed that he's going to shut it down completely, and in fact I expected it.
we need to proceed without considering NJ a significant piece of this team. time to move on. he just can't stay healthy, just like john patterson.

See, this is what happens when you lay off copy editors. The whole staff gets lazy.

Too bad NJ couldn't have remained healthy until Aug. 1. Maybe JimBow could have traded him before he broke down. Oh well, he joins Cordero as another totally untradeable player.

Does this along with the Marrero injury put us at the top of the Texiera sweepstakes?

Thanks for the laugh. My sides hurt (seriously) from laughing so much at that comment.
