Guzman out of tonight's lineup
I'll come back with a little more right after the first pitch, once I file the early notebook. But here are the lineups, as well as some news on the one person missing from it.
Shortstop Cristian Guzman is out tonight. When batting against Giants closer Brian Wilson in San Francisco last series, a pitch hit Guzman in the thumb. Since then, he's had a little discomfort, and today, he decided it had become too much to play through. The team took an X-ray earlier today, but the Los Angeles team doctor hasn't yet been able to take a look at it, trainer Lee Kuntz told me. We'll know more about Guzman's status later tonight -- perhaps.
But for now, the team is going to hold Guzman out for the rest of this series, giving him two full days off and then the Monday off day. Manny Acta called Guzman day-to-day.
