Not so Sweet Caroline
Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama looks as though he's garnered some unlikely support. The 17-year-old daughter of Rudy Giuliani, the former NYC Mayor and a Presidential candidate frontrunner, appears to be an Obama fan. Caroline Giuliani had joined the group "Barack Obama (One Million Strong for Barack)" on her Facebook profile, which could be viewed by any of the 40,000+ members of the Harvard University and Trinity School networks to which she belongs. The online magazine Slate emailed Caroline to confirm this, and as of 6:01 a.m. Monday morning, the young Giuliani had left the online group. Caroline still lists her political views as liberal. Obama is also a Harvard Gradute school alum.
It is no secret that Rudy Giuliani has a strained relationship with his two children from his second marriage, but some say that dragging children into the public sphere is crossing the line into an invasion of privacy. However, the information posted was allowed to be made public to those within her school networks, and therefore is fair game for the media. After all, this comes after a recent report on Chelsea Clinton and plenty of press over the years on the troubles of President Bush's daughters.
