Tagliabue to Speak With Reporters Today
NEW YORK--Outgoing NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue is scheduled to meet with a group of reporters here this morning for an informal question-and-answer session as he prepares to leave office.
The remarks that Tagliabue makes today probably will be among his final public comments before officially giving way to Roger Goodell, the league's chief operating officer who was elected by the 32 team owners to succeed Tagliabue.
Tagliabue plans to travel to India and China this fall, and has said he might live in China temporarily. Under the terms of his contract, he is to remain a senior adviser to the NFL after his retirement as commissioner takes effect.
