S. Davis, Rams Agree to Deal

Tailback Stephen Davis agreed to a one-year, minimum-salary contract with the St. Louis Rams, an NFL source said.

Davis had worked out for the Philadelphia Eagles and Rams in recent weeks. He becomes Steven Jackson's backup in St. Louis.

The Carolina Panthers released Davis during the offseason.
