Thurman's Suspension Extended

The NFL today extended the suspension of Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman for the remainder of the season.

Thurman, already serving a four-game suspension for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy, was arrested early Monday on a drunk-driving charge.

Bengals Coach Marvin Lewis sharply criticized Thurman and said he expected the suspension to be lengthened to a year.
