CB Carroll Agrees to Contract with Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to a contract Tuesday with cornerback Ahmad Carroll, the former first-round draft choice just released by the Green Bay Packers.

Carroll was a starter for most of his tenure in Green Bay but his play was inconsistent at best, and he was abruptly cut after being beaten for one touchdown and committing a penalty to set up another in a Monday night loss at Philadelphia last week.

The Jaguars likely will clear a roster spot for Carroll by placing linebacker Mike Peterson, out with a torn pectoral muscle, on the injured reserve list, officially ending his season.
