Falcons Hopeful They'll Have Vick Against Panthers
The Atlanta Falcons are hopeful that quarterback Michael Vick will play this weekend against the Carolina Panthers.
Vick threw four touchdown passes in Saturday's loss at home to the Dallas Cowboys but finished the game on the bench because of a strained groin muscle.
Matt Schaub would start against the Panthers if Vick is unable to play.
The Falcons also hope to have defensive end John Abraham in the lineup against the Panthers. Abraham hurt his thumb during the Cowboys game and underwent surgery Monday to have a pin inserted after doctors determined he'd suffered ligament damage.
He'll wear a cast if he plays Sunday.
