Strahan's Season Over
The reeling New York Giants placed defensive end Michael Strahan on the injured reserve list today, ending his season.
Strahan had missed six games with a midfoot sprain before returning to the lineup for Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints at Giants Stadium. He aggravated the injury during the game and was told by doctors he might have to undergo surgery.
The Giants also placed left tackle Luke Petitgout and punt returner Chad Morton on the IR list. Petitgout hasn't played since suffering a broken leg last month. Morton suffered a knee injury Sunday.
The Giants have lost six of their past seven games but remain in the thick of the wild card race with a record of 7-8 entering Saturday night's game against the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field.
