Dallas was the first team to beat Indy, they just beat the Giants in a must game on the road, they're healthy, and but for a blocked kick and a inflated facemask flag at Fedex, they'd be 9-3. The Saints game should be interesting.

No, even the worst team in the league (Raiders) came within a fluke "illegal forward pass" call (cf. Plaxico Burress 2000) of beating the number 1 Chargers.
No one's any good -- it's just that some are a lot worse than others.

This to me is what makes football in the 21st century so good. The long season and salary caps in a sport so brutally physical that every play risks a season ending injury, creates a certain "leveling influence". Combine these with the very complexity of the game and speed of the game, and you have a situation where almost any team can beat almost any other on a given day.
The Colts lose to the Titans, the resurgent Dolphins lose to the Jaguars, the losing Lions almost take down the Patriots, Browns beat Chiefs, Cowboys turn their season around, but struggle against a Giants team that finally pull it back together. Wow!

Cowboys at #2 over the Patriots and the Bears? How come the other 8-4 teams are ranked where they shoud be yet the Cowboys who are also 8-4 are ranked at #2? The Saints have a good chance of beating Cowboys this weekend.

Not buying it Bill. Even if the Raiders got the call (and the ball) they still had to score, and that isn't all that easy against the Bolts.
One play doesn't make or break a game. If the Raiders were the better team they would have won.

NoJoy,
I went back and checked -- at that point the Raiders were ahead (14-7). Four plays later was when LT threw the pass to Gates that tied the game at 14. Granted the "pass" happened with 11 minutes left, which was still plenty of time for the Chargers to score 10 points to win (which they probably would've, given the Raiders ineptitude), but it's not clear cut.

Redskins are in freefall, the entire roster has been recycled (more than once), 5 different head coaches, untold number of assistant coaches and this year with the highest paid, most experienced coaching staff ever seen in the NFL they may not even be able to beat Spurrier's pitiful record! What hasn't changed in all that time? The owner... Danny if you really are a life-long Skins fan as you claim you'll put up a "For Sale" sign in Landover!

You've really underrated a hot Cincinnati team with arguably the best offense in the league and a defense that has allowed 7 points in the last 120 minutes of football - and that in a last minute garbage time play. They've faced as many injuries as any team in the league, coincidently around the time of their mid-season slump, and they're getting a lot of those players back now. This is a team that could go deep in the playoffs.

Dallas at #2 is a bit suspect. I have reservations about any team in the NFC.
The Raider-Chiefs call was disgraceful, and I'm the farthest thing from a Raiders fan that can exist. Its the worst call I've seen in quite awhile. It goes beyond poor judgement and into creative rule wrangling. K street lobbyists would blush at the referee spin on that call.
Certain bad calls are harder to overcome than other bad calls.
- Calls late in the game.
- Calls that prevent a legitimate turnover
This one had both.

I hate to say it as a Skins fan but Romo is best mid-season replacement at QB since Tom Brady in NE. Power rankings should be how the teams are currently playing not their cumaltive record hence the Bears dropping down while the Chargers are #1. Boys-Chargers would be quite an appealing Super Bowl then say "Bears-Colts".

Dallas at #2? What color is the sky in your world?
