Chargers Keep S. Phillips Off Restricted Free Agent Market

The San Diego Chargers signed linebacker Shaun Phillips to a six-year contract today.

He would have been a restricted free agent.

Phillips had 11-1/2 sacks this past season. He was elevated to the starting lineup because Steve Foley missed the season after being shot by an off-duty police officer in September.
