Seahawks Tag Kicker J. Brown

The Seattle Seahawks placed their franchise player tag on kicker Josh Brown today.

Brown, if he retains the franchise tag, will play next season on a one-year contract worth $2.078 million.

He tied a single-season NFL record with four game-winning field goals in the final minute of regulation this past season.

"We are excited that Josh will remain a Seahawk," team president Tim Ruskell said in a written statement released by the club. "We will continue to talk with his representative in hopes of securing a longterm deal, which is our goal."
