Meeting Under Way

PHOENIX, Ariz.--The annual league meeting began here this morning with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressing the franchise owners, executives and coaches gathered at the Arizona Biltmore resort.

Goodell is expected to announce a new player conduct policy Tuesday and the owners likely will ratify the guidelines under which teams will qualify to receive funding under the revenue-sharing plan enacted last year. The owners also are to consider a series of proposals by the competition committee, including one to make instant replay a permanent NFL fixture and another to enable one defensive player per club to wear a radio receiver in his helmet connecting him to a coach during a game.

It's been confirmed that the opening Mon night game is Balt @ Cin. It was supposed to be in Bal but the owners felt it was unfair since the Ravens have another primetime home game against Pitt later in the year.
