Packers, Patriots Reportedly in Running for R. Moss

The Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots reportedly are among the teams interested in trading for Oakland Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss.

The Raiders apparently are shopping Moss, who has 102 catches in two seasons in Oakland and is a fraction of the dominant player he once was for the Minnesota Vikings. He had 42 catches for a career-low 553 yards and three touchdowns this past season.

The Packers reportedly are including quarterback Aaron Rodgers in their trade offer. The Raiders are shorthanded at quarterback after allowing Aaron Brooks to become a free agent and failing to sign Jeff Garcia.

The Packers would give up on Aaron Rodgers after spending two years seasoning him in an ideal environment (behind a future Hall of Famer) without ever giving him a real chance in the regular season? Is there a story behind this?
