Raiders Take J. Russell

NEW YORK--The Oakland Raiders used the top overall selection in the NFL draft on LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell.

The Raiders also had contract talks during the week with Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn and Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson, but went with the player they'd been expected all along to take.
