Restricted Free Agent Market Closes Today

The NFL's restricted free agent market closes today. It is the final day for a player who's a restricted free agent to sign an offer sheet with another team, or his rights remain with his current club.

Six restricted free agents have agreed to offer sheets this offseason.

Three of them changed teams--defensive tackle Shaun Smith from the Cincinnati Bengals to the Cleveland Browns, linebacker Ryan Fowler from the Dallas Cowboys to the Tennessee Titans and punter Donnie Jones from the Miami Dolphins to the St. Louis Rams.

Two had their offers matched and stayed with their previous teams--punter Andy Lee with the San Francisco 49ers after signing an offer sheet with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and fullback Vonta Leach with the Houston Texans after signing an offer sheet with the New York Giants.

The status of Indianapolis Colts cornerback Jason David remains unresolved. He agreed Thursday to an offer sheet with the New Orleans Saints.
