T. James Agrees to Deal With Patriots
Free agent cornerback Tory James agreed to a one-year contract with the New England Patriots.
James spent the past four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, totaling 21 interceptions in that time. He has 39 interceptions in 11 NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders and Bengals.
The addition of James gives the Patriots some depth at cornerback as they deal with Asante Samuel. The cornerback, who tied for the NFL lead with 10 interceptions last season, is unsigned after the Patriots named him their franchise player to limit his free agent mobility.
