Accounts Differ on Result of Court-Ordered Drug Test for C. Henry
There were conflicting reports today about a court-ordered drug test taken by suspended Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry.
A prosecutor in Kentucky told reporters that Henry had failed a drug test and could be facing jail time. But later in the day, the prosecutor's office indicated that results were still pending. Henry's agent, Marvin Frazier, told the Cincinnati Enquirer that Henry's test was negative.
Last month, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Henry for the first half of the 2007 season for violating the league's conduct policy, and warned Henry in a letter that continued off-field misbehavior could jeopardize his NFL career. The league's new conduct policy enables Goodell to impose a lifetime ban on a player for repeated serious criminal conduct.
