Favre Changes Mind, Reportedly Will Attend Packers' Minicamp
According to several reports, quarterback Brett Favre has decided to attend the Green Bay Packers' minicamp this weekend.
Favre previously had indicated that he wouldn't attend and instead would remain at his home in Mississippi to be with his family. He'd said his decision to skip the minicamp was not related to his displeasure with the Packers' failure to obtain wide receiver Randy Moss. But now Favre has reversed course and plans to attend the minicamp, and reportedly intends to take part in drills even though he's recovering from surgery earlier this offseason to have bone spurs removed from his left ankle.
Favre has acknowledged he was upset that Moss was traded from the Oakland Raiders to the New England Patriots, rather than the Packers, on the second day of the NFL draft. There were reports that Favre asked the Packers to trade him just after the draft, then backed off that request. Favre issued a written statement through the Packers saying that he's not seeking a trade.
